Dear everyone with an opinion on teachers:
"Usually, the better someone does their job, the easier it looks. You rarely realize how hard it is until you try it yourself."

Me: Googles “cheap easy book character costume.”
The internet: First, get out your refrigerator box from where you’ve stored it for the last seven years (preferably a hand built she-shed). Make 367.8 diagonal cuts equidistant to the perpendicular. (1/?)
Hot glue them together in a trihexigonal pattern using organic, dairy free hemp gum. Find a sixteenth century peasant dress in the back of your closet. Light on fire. Sew the remaining ashes to the box with turquoise green glitter thread made from South American seashells. (2/?)
Wrap around neck two point seven times and complete an eight crossed Celtic knot. Complete ritualistic rights over your great great grandparent’s tiger hide which was hand sourced from the finest and most literate zoo animals that died from natural causes. (4/?)
Pair with spandex leather cheetah-print jeggings and wooden clogs painted burnt sienna. Cross-stitch a hand drawn mandala into your hand knitted matching hat and scarf set with seed beads created with ancient sea glass off the coast of Tanzania. (3/?)
A11: From my answers, I'd say self-selected sessions about relevant topics to me with passionate instructors and a collaborative, hand-on delivery is the perfect PD. #akedchat
A10: Relevance to current circumstances, flexibility to adapt to participants needs, ability to inspire more growth and learning. I know PD is good when I leave wanting to continue discussion or research on the topic. #AkEdChat
#AkEdChat Q10: Besides the topic, required vs. self-selected topics, structure, facilitator, and time of PD experiences, what are some other characteristics of PD that are important in its effectiveness?
A9: Length really depends on the topic. I've been to PD sessions that felt far too short to cover everything. Other PD sessions are way too long! Timing is difficult. #AkEdChat
A8: The best facilitators are passionate about what they're presenting, have an upbeat personality, and also have a sense of humor. If there is no intonation or passion in your voice...I'm zoning out. #AkEdChat
A7: Least effective for me is online "sit and get." Especially if the presenter is just reading me their slides that are on display. I will read ahead and then zone out. #AkEdChat
