@barb_reads@NeedSchoolLibs I agree Barb, although I know of a couple of primary schools that budget very carefully for the basics, and then rely on regular sausage sizzles and such for the extras, but that's only possible if the staff are willing to make the effort in the first place.
@gen_librarian Too many books is a great problem to have! Your daughter sounds like a real sweety, but so does that lovely school librarian! She's a great advocate for reading and learning in that library for sure. How fortunate those kids are to have someone encouraging them no matter what! π
A global shift taking place regarding library fines and whether they still have a place in circulation services https://t.co/XqcUqPWuoy Changes are happening in libraries around the world and in some Australian libraries. Thoughts? #SwinLibStudents

@NeedSchoolLibs So true. Sadly there are state schools in Victoria that don't have the budget for a Teacher Librarian. Some don't even have enough funding for any dedicated staff at all to run their library, and rely on parent volunteers to keep things going. My sister works at one such school.
@IFLA@IFLA_FAIFE Libraries have a responsibility to promote diversity, democracy and freedom of choice, which should be reflected in their collection management and development policies. #SwinLibStudents
