The UN Security Council has just adopted the horrific US resolution with 13 yes votes and 2 abstentions. Not a single member of the Council had the courage, principle, or respect for international law to vote against this US-Israel colonial outrage. This proposal has been rejected by Palestinian civil society and factions, and defenders of human rights and international law everywhere. 17 November 2025 is a day of shame for the United Nations, and for governments around the world on their knees before the US empire and its violent Israeli client. But the struggle for Palestinian freedom will continue undeterred, with or without them.

When the Security Council is paralyzed by vetoes, the world isn’t out of options. During two years of genocide, the U.S. has vetoed six ceasefire resolutions, part of over 50 vetoes shielding Israeli impunity. But there is another path.

The General Assembly, where every nation has an equal vote and no veto power, can invoke Uniting for Peace, a 1950 resolution that lets the UN act when the Security Council won’t. It’s been used before, like during the Suez Crisis, to stop aggression and uphold international law.
Now, as the world watches, the call grows louder for the General Assembly to do the same, to act where the Council has failed.

Peacemaker? For almost 10 months, Donald Trump and his administration have actively participated in a genocide, arming it, funding it, using the UN veto to prevent a ceasefire, using official podiums to disseminate genocide propaganda, and attacking and punishing those who spoke out against the genocide. Thousands of innocents have been exterminated as a result of his actions. The current ceasefire, whether it lasts or not, is further proof of his complicity, because it shows he could have stopped the horror at any moment. If I am being beaten by one person with a club provided by a second person, and then the second person also joins in by kicking me, that person does not become a peacemaker when he pauses the beating. Rather he is a criminal who must be held accountable.

It appears that the US-Israel axis has agreed to at least temporarily suspend the direct military component of its genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza (although the historical record suggests that they will resume their attacks at some point). Any respite for the survivors of genocide is to be welcomed. But they have not yet ended the food and medical components of the genocide, murderous Israeli troops remain on the ground, thousands remain trapped in horrific Israeli dungeons, the assault on the West Bank continues, and the perpetrators are now planning the proxy occupation of Gaza, the subjugation of its people, and foreign extraction of its resources. We must keep the pressure on until all perpetrators and complicit actors are held accountable for the genocide, the apartheid regime is dismantled, and Palestine is free.

Today is the 2-year anniversary of the October 7th 2023 attack on Israel by Hamas and other Palestinian resistance organisations.

For two years Israel, Western governments and the media have tried to convince you that the militia of an open-air concentration camp with nothing but light arms, caused this level of destruction.

Thanks to brave reporting from independent media in the West and some Israeli journalists, we know that Israel implemented the Hannibal Directive, where Israeli helicopter gunships unloaded their bullets and rockets on anything that moved in a mass application of the directive to prevent Israelis being taken hostage by Hamas, who would then be used in hostage negotiations to free the thousands of Palestinian prisoners.

The now debunked mass rape claims are also now enshrined in Israeli law, meaning questioning these debunked claims, or even saying that they have been debunked, could land you in prison in Israel. Israel’s Knesset approved a bill criminalising denial of Israel’s version of events of October 7th, those who break this law could face 5 years in prison.
