Bookmark this website. @DSIPaint has done excellent work summarizing the exceptions to state abortion laws. There will be a lot of misinformation about this in the immediate future. Use his work to dispel panicked reactions. https://t.co/ZHVoKyevMy
Make no mistake: If the Dobbs ruling leads to the overturn of Roe, this is not the end but a new beginning for the pro-life movement.
Our work of advocating for the vulnerable and changing hearts on the issue is far from over.
Pro-choice: Women have a right to control their bodies.
Pro-life: True, but not all things that a person does with their body are right, nor should they all be legally protected. The right to control my body does not give me the right to hurt or oppress others.
It is dangerous when those in power believe their position gives them the ability to determine whether people more vulnerable than them deserve rights.
If the Supreme Court overturns Roe, what do you think this means for conversations about abortion?
Will people be more willing to talk about it? Do you see the conversations becoming more volatile?
I'd love to hear people's opinions.
New from Journal of Palliative
Care: "All women carrying a fetus diagnosed with a life-threatening condition for which comfort-focused care at birth is one ethically reasonable option ought to be offered palliative care support prenatally" https://t.co/2rxDgam6Y8 #hapc#obgyn
The right to be protected from violence doesn’t increase as you age. Do adults deserve to be protected from harm more than newborns and toddlers?
No. Our humanness gives us this right. The unborn are human, so they deserve equal protection from violence.
