I think I know why I’m happy for the Knicks.

It’s a big city with lots to do, New York. But God do they love their basketball team.

They hadn’t won since my mother was in High School, but that didn’t define the culture of the franchise. The lack of championships and being long suffering wasn’t the story.

They never became lovable losers. Too much pride.

The culture of the city defined the culture of the team. They celebrated in good times and bad, so it feels like this joy was earned.

Not one guy on the Knicks was supposed to be the next big thing. They actually beat the next big thing.

It’s just kinda dope.

@AckTeacher @jasonwhitlock I’m not saying she is on the level of Spike Lee, but she has been to games, more than that one you choose to mention. She also has been documented over the years talking about being a fan, her connection to Stoudemire, singing at a game as a kid, etc.

I’m not saying she’s Ben Stiller or Spike level, but she’s openly said she was a Knicks fan for a long time. In 30 seconds you could have, & probably did see all that. It didn’t fit your argument though.
