The promotion list for 416 Assistant Executive Engineers (AEE) was already released in March 2026 during the previous DMK rule! Are TVK supporters twisting the truth ?

The viral claims stating that, for the first time in the history of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB), over 300 Assistant Executive Engineers (AEE) were promoted to Executive Engineers (EE) under the TVK government are completely twisted and false.

​The promotion processes for the years 2024-25 and 2025-26 were delayed due to a long-pending court case regarding "seniority." The claim that this entire process began only after the TVK government took office is wrong. Following the Supreme Court's verdict, the initial steps for these promotions were actually started in March 2026, during the DMK rule. After that, routine administrative procedures continued, and the final promotion orders were issued on June 6.

2000–2001: Appointments for Assistant Engineer (Electrical) posts in TNEB were made through direct recruitment and internal exams. Later, a dispute arose regarding the seniority among these officers.

​2010: Several Writ Appeals were filed in the Madras High Court regarding this seniority issue.

​2018: Additional appeals were filed concerning the same issue.

​September 6, 2024: A two-judge Division Bench of the Madras High Court delivered its verdict on the seniority issue.

​2025: A Special Leave Petition (SLP) was filed in the Supreme Court challenging the High Court's verdict.

​March 11, 2026: The Supreme Court gave its final verdict, putting an end to the long-standing legal dispute over the seniority of Assistant Engineers. This ruling finally cleared the way for the promotion process to move forward.

​March 12, 2026: Under the then-ruling DMK government, TNPDCL released a list stating that 416 Assistant Executive Engineers (Electrical) would be considered for promotion to Executive Engineer (EE).

​June 6, 2026: After the 2026 State Assembly elections, under the current TVK government, promotion and posting orders have now been issued to 300 out of the 416 Assistant Executive Engineers from that original list.

Given this context, a fair question arises: "Why have only 300 out of the 416 eligible candidates been given promotions now?"

Clear as daylight: "மேயர்" (Mayor) is mentioned as the head of Chennai Corporation.

Yet 2 days back, Pallavi MLA tried to create an unnecessary scene there, acting like she runs the show.
Official banners don't lie. Corporation schools come under the Mayor & Corporation, not individual MLAs.

What Aadhava Arjuna spoke about is the finale of the route mafia drama - Aadhav Arjuna invokes local body elections and starts the victim card about how MLA Pallavi was insulted and kick starts TVK local body campaigns !
