Also, I just can’t wrap my head around the fact my kids can go swimming today in a pool with strangers but they can’t even see (let alone hug) their dad. Last visit was December-last time they hugged him March 2020!
So over 2 weeks since @hmpps stated visits could re-start if prisons reach stage 3-I think for most of us, visits still seem in the distant future. So unfair how they can treat prisoners’ families like this! 😡
@aprisonersgf Although its a terrible journey- it does bring you closer together & you really appreciate what you have & why you were together in the first place. It breaks couples who aren’t meant to be together but it brings soul mates closer together and that’s how you know he’s the one🥰
I don’t know how in a modern day, ‘civilised’ country we are denying people fleeing in fear of their lives-including women and children. What a nasty despicable gov we have. Happy to create conflict overseas but won’t take the victims of it!
Home Secretary Priti Patel today told LBC her planned shake-up of asylum seeker rules will make deportations as "swift and efficient" as possible. https://t.co/rLabownOlq
I’m struggling I don’t know how much more I can’t take. What will it take to get someone to listen? I need a hug with my OH. This is death by a thousand cuts. It’s cruel & wrong. @JoFarrar_UK @hmpps@EHRC@HumanRightsCtte@prisonadvice@PRTuk
Fighting to clear my OH’s name is like fighting a losing battle. All my resources, time and money have been drained and so many doors have been slammed in my face. I just want the truth to come out & it feels near to impossible. The crown are quick to convict but not to acquit!
@victoria_gb1234@BorisJohnson@hmpps@MoJGovUK@RobertBuckland Last visit was 4th December 20, no contact, had 2 video visits since then. Our kids have not physically touched their dad for a year now, youngest is about to turn 2 so it’s over half his life without hugging his daddy. Had 4 visits since March 2020.
My wife always worried something was going to happen to me inside #prison. The anxiety, stress & financial burden it causes to those supporting you on the inside is unjustifiable. If only the jury could see the damage their decision to imprison actually does to a family & children.
@kb0487 I stop myself thinking about kissing and hugging him sometimes, it feels so far away and like it’s never gona happen! Can’t wait for the day!!!
So they have announced care home residents will be allowed 1 regular visitor from 8th March-where is this for prisoners?! Especially prisoner’s children who are desperate to see their parent, they didn’t commit a crime to suffer like this.
What I would do just to hug my husband, I never thought the small things you take for granted would be this painful when they’re suddenly taken away- not had a hug since March last year neither have my 2 small kids-this is so inhumane 😞
@lovemymutleys Yes we are having purple visits once a month. But 30 mins a month with 2 young kids who keep moving and making me reverify isn’t exactly great. My son turns 2 this month and has seen his dad in person twice since March last year( of course with no touching) not fair on the kids😢
I haven’t posted in a long time- this whole lockdown is prisons has been really depressing and it seems there’s not light at the end of the tunnel. Just wanna kiss and hug my OH! Does anyone have any word on visits resuming?
Hey @PritiPatel we think the real crisis is our lack of humanity for people fleeing war, climate change and torture. We pulled together a thread for you..
My OH just called me saying he felt dizzy and he didn’t seem himself, I called the prison who said he can ring his buzzer I told them I was concerned if he couldn’t i.e if he fainted, so I asked if someone could check on him tonight...
@rosiejustice12 I know it’s terrible feeling completely powerless, and I know even though he’s in their care they do not care about him or any of the other guys. I think he has heat exhaustion from what symptoms he’s got 😔x
