@lesliemaniotes@dst6n01 And I graduated with LESS confidence. I avoided reunions for YEARS. Stayed at a job (not a career) for years. Did not feel my credentials (BA Neuroscience) were good enough. Today, have written a book, back in school, & in a chaplain residency. Hope that helps. (End)
@lesliemaniotes@dst6n01 As a 1st generation student whose older brothers went to the military, my mother didn’t have the wherewithal (nor the personality) to advocate for me. I was a 16-yr-old freshman and I didn’t have confidence. That’s why this post was so powerful & painful for me. (2)
@lesliemaniotes@dst6n01 Well, I had a prof tell me as I struggled, ‘Maybe you’d be more comfortable at a state school.’ Another, ‘It’s not mathematically impossible for you to pass my class, so focus on the others.’ And the list goes on. (1)
Jesus didn’t come so you can carry shame and guilt!
Yes you sinned, yes you are a sinner! But as long as you desire to change, come as you are to Jesus but don’t stay as you are!
Stop walking in shame and guilt, and actually repent and turn away so you can LIVE for JESUS!
