If this turns out to be the case, it will be a brazenly political decision that's inexcusable.
No social media app glorifies hate and violence more than Bluesky. Just last week, the large and influential user Ken White called for Elon's assassination. The post is still up!
Chloe Swarbrick and the Greens in an unofficial deal with Te Pāti Māori?
Full-blown rumours are circulating that the Greens are now quietly cooperating with Te Pāti Māori to secure enough seats between them to form part of a Labour-led coalition — while applying collective pressure on Labour for more ambitious, progressive change, rather than risking handing those seats over to Labour.
For a political newcomer Tania Waikato sits at a very strong number 13 on the Green Party list. That makes a split vote highly appealing in many Māori electorates: candidate vote for Te Pāti Māori (e.g., Rawiri Waititi in Waiariki), party vote Green. The same strategy applies across other Māori seats — Te Pāti Māori for the candidate, Green for the party.
This approach feels especially obvious in Tāmaki Makaurau, where the Greens’ candidate, Florence Te Ohaere, remains a virtual unknown. Here, a party vote for the Greens paired with a candidate vote for sitting MP Oriini Kaipara (Te Pāti Māori) makes perfect strategic sense.
As the election draws closer the Greens seem to appearing with Te Pāti Māori MP’s more frequently in social media.
Chloe Swarbrick, the Greens, and Te Pāti Māori owe their supporters and the public full honesty and transparency. They should come clean about any collusion or coordination between the two parties
An OIA to the Charities Board has confirmed that despite almost 20 complaints being made about the political advocacy of @HelenClarkFound@GreenpeaceNZ and @drug_nz in the last five years, not a single investigation was carried out.
Also remember that it was a badly worded ranting complaint from one person that resulted in the Commission undertaking a massive investigation which ultimately resulted in their attempt to deregister Family First in a 10 year battle ending at the Supreme Court.
Well said,@winstonpeters! No doubt Rainbow Action Tamaki will get pro bono legal firepower — just like Auckland Pride, who are using their free lawyers from DLA Piper to pursue me personally for over $13k in costs.
This follows my failed attempt to intervene on the case against the Minister of Sport for scrapping Sport NZ’s transgender guidelines, on behalf of @SWS_australasia. While my intervention was denied, the judge ruled our arguments still deserved to be heard. Now Auckland Pride have redirected their resources to target me instead.
I'm so over these organisations weaponising the legal system against anyone who dares challenge their ideology!
I have no adequate words for the sadistic, deviant, evil men who ended this baby’s life in the most unspeakable ways possible, other than to say I sincerely hope they pay behind bars & don’t leave prison alive.
Rest in peace, Preston Davey.
You were let down despicably. 😢
Anyone surprised Labour lied again? RNZ digs up economists who reckon the numbers are off by a fair bit on their public transport fare cap. "Material miscalculation" they call it. Shocking stuff from a party that's never been straight with the books. Taxpayers will cop the real bill as usual. https://t.co/Ao6MWv3cbq
The unlimited money of a capital gains tax built on an assumption of a 6 pc annual growth in property prices in an era where property prices are expected to contract.
New Zealand First leader @winstonpeters said "“I called you a bunch of egotistical mouth breathers who think the universe revolves around you, and this threat of legal action, thinking that you are the most important thing in this whole conversation, is precisely why ordinary Kiwis have had a gutsful of you and your rent a crowd. https://t.co/W74sMMJfrr
This is false. To remove someone is to cut short a tenure he or she was otherwise entitled to hold.
Brown didn’t remove anyone. Their terms expired and he declined to reappoint them.
The difference between that and removal is significant and material.
Big news for Dargaville.
Until now, a doctor at Dargaville Hospital was only available weekdays, from 8am to 5pm. That’s now changing.
People in the area now have a new acute care service running 8am to 8.30pm, seven days a week. Whether it’s a fracture, asthma attack, chest infection, minor burn or sprain, people can now be seen and treated locally, rather than facing a long drive to Whangārei.
There’s also a new oncology infusion service starting up, with four purpose-built chairs expected to support around 70 Kaipara cancer patients a year and deliver roughly 720 treatments annually.
It means treatment sooner, less time on the road, and patients staying close to family and support when they need it most.
It’s all part of our plan to fix the basics and build the future of healthcare, closer to home for Dargaville and the wider Kaipara community.
Hey @EricaStanfordMP activists in MoE strike again. Maybe follow the lead of @SimeonBrownMP and get rid of this. This is idealogical not education driven. 👇
I'd like Ayesha Verrall to explain to me in plain English how on earth it is possible that I can get my free cervical screening and pregnancy scans? She did say every New Zealander... how?
Today “Rainbow Action Tamaki” sent me a letter threatening legal action against my previous post calling them a self-important, egotistical, bunch of rent-a-crowd protesters when they protested about NZFirst’s definition of a woman bill last Sunday.
They want me to delete my post, apologise, and donate money to their ‘charity’.
My post is now passing 1.7million views on Facebook. So no. I won’t be deleting it with all the positive responses it is receiving from kiwis with common sense who are backing our stance.
We also won’t be donating any money to their cause mainly due to not knowing which kind of flag it will be spent purchasing seeing as they can’t make their mind up what protest they are at.
And as for me saying I’m sorry:
I am sorry. I am sorry that you have proven us right. Your egos know no bounds.
I called you a bunch of egotistical mouth-breathers who think the universe revolves around you – and this threat of legal action, thinking that you are the most important thing in this whole conversation, is precisely why ordinary kiwis have had a gutsful of you and your rent-a-crowd.
If you want to take me to court, go ahead, we will ensure we use discovery to read all the emails and communications you had with the Green Party and whomever else you coordinate with and find out who is really behind all of this.
And for the last time, this isn’t about you. We couldn’t give a rat’s derriere about what you do in your private lives, what colour you want to dye your hair, or whether you want to identify as they or them or a lamppost.
Our stance and our bill is about the rights, safety, and protection of women and girls who want safe spaces and bathrooms, fairness in sports, and to protect their rights as women. If you seriously want to protest against that cause then you will find yourself on the wrong side of history.
We would wish you luck in your journey to figure that out, but it seems you would be too stupid to know what to do with it.
