@sonodoc99 You don’t understand. MDs are employees yet are not payed hourly but on production. Yet corporate medicine overhead is 75% meaning the MD gets 25% of what insurance pays them. Everyone you mentioned gets paid hourly unless they are company owners. I own my practice. I keep 75%.

A lawyer here charged me $350/hour to help with a will. He said that’s AVERAGE. He’s right according to the article. Nothing complicated about it. No court cases. Just filling paperwork. Scalable right? Kind of like a Primary Care Doctor compared to a Lawyer. It wasn’t Brain Surgery.

$350/hr is verified in the article here in Virginia. So here a Neurosurgeon should make $900/hr or more.

$350/hr x 50 hrs/wk x 48 wks/yr =$840,000 a year. Enough for me to run an office on.

You put us in a huge amount of debt and no salary for 8 years, then paid less than a Nurse Practitioner for 3-10 years.

We are just asking for a Fair Hourly Wage. You practically had a riot over Fair Minimum Wage. Let’s not be Hypocrites.

What is a Fair Hourly Wage for a Doctor? Salary should be roughly based on Hourly wage or just under to be fair to the Doctor and their children right?

You bring up a great question. The CHEAPEST Lawyer Average Hourly Wage is in West Virginia, $195/hour. Average is $341/hour.

I believe a Doctor who Heals the sick, saves lives(I’ve saved many), and spends 7-10 years of their lives just to have the PRIVILEGE of being a Doctor deserves at LEAST $195/Hour.

But I would like your opinion. Only ONE person has answered this question with an Hourly Wage. Supply a number.

1. So you think Doctors should make LESS than the Cheapest Lawyer in the US, West Virginia, $195/Hour. That's a 25% pay cut for West Virginia Lawyers.
Average Hourly rate here is $350/hour for a Lawyer. So a Life saving Doctor should get paid HALF of what a Lawyer who helps close wills charges(that's what it costs here).
Think higher.

2. Your math is wrong. Doctors work 10-11 hours a day, 50 hours/week minimum. Your Health Insurance Company has your Doctor doing a mountain of paper work for you. 48 weeks a year gives a Doctor 4 weeks off a year.
$150/hr x 50hrs/wk x 48 wks/yr = $337,500/yr.
Your math is way off even at $150/hr.

Read the article. It posts the average HOURLY WAGE in each state. That's what people are willing to pay Lawyers in those states. That's what people think Lawyers are worth in EACH STATE. That's the Lawyers value by Hourly Wage.

It has Nothing to do with type of work a Lawyer is doing. It's an Assignment of value by the people at large of an Hourly Wage.

Doctors are EMPLOYEES Now. Salaried, get benefits, a W-2, sign a massive Employee contract with a Noncompete. The Salary should at least come close to the Hourly Wage if not a little less.

Your example does not work here or with the article. Considering people want to put All Doctors on the Government Payroll this is a valid question. So I ask again, what do you think is a Fair Hourly Wage for an Employed Physician?

Imagine if you had to buy Food and Housing through Insurance you got at Work. You could only buy Food at ONE Grocery Store. Your Food Insurance dictates the Prices. You don’t know the PRICE of the Food you buy and you don’t get the Grocery BILL for 6 Months! The Food Insurance Company DICTATES what Food you could buy. Thats Corporate Healthcare.

You are paid with PROFITS. How are Hospital Employees going to get paid without profits? They can’t print money.

You demand to be paid fairly. What does being paid fairly to support your children have to do with healing the sick? Let's not be hypocrites here. Look at all the people protesting for a higher minimum wage. But a Doctor demanding to be paid fairly is is contradictory?

If you average out Medical School and Residency, We make LESS THAN Minimum Wage for 7-14 years while accruing debt of up to $500,000 to heal the sick. We still have to feed our families. If you demand us to work 50-60 hours a week, not 40 hours a week like everyone else, is it unreasonable to ask to be paid a fair hourly wage?

I'm a Direct Primary Care Family Physician. My patients and I determine how much they pay me. I just increased my prices. 2% quit. They have already been replaced and more are signing up.
