🚨 OFFICIAL: Pro Ref confirm “an error of judgement” in Haaland’s goal — also informing Man United directly.
“Following the incident in the 60th minute of Sunday's Premier League fixture between Manchester United and Manchester City at Old Trafford, we can provide clarification regarding Erling Haaland’s awarded goal.
“The on-field decision was offside against Erling Haaland – that was checked by VAR and he was found to be in an onside position.
“In the same attack, it was established that Enzo Fernandez did not play the ball and therefore that makes any offside offence subjective, however, on this occasion, the VAR did not recognise the likely impact of his position and should have recommended an on-field review.
“Contact has been made with Manchester United this evening to acknowledge what we deem is an error of judgement. A review of the incident will take place.”
Manchester City, the BBC says, haven't yet sold their 6,000 home allocation of tickets for tonight's FA Youth Cup final against United. United. City said the final had to be switched to their titchy 7,000-seat training ground because main stadium has construction work - yeah!
The plastic club have robbed a group of U18’s a once in a lifetime chance to play a cup final infront of 60k fans instead opting for a 7k stadium in a training ground.
Totally bottled hosting it at the Etihad because the Red side of Manchester would fill their stadium for them
The 2022 final was one of the best adverts for English youth football in years.
67,492 fans cheering on from the stands - an FA Youth Cup record and an incredible experience for the players, several of which have gone on to make a major impact in the men’s game.
Real efforts should be made to reproduce the scale and spectacle of that night.
It’s now 5 days until the FA Youth Cup final is due to be played. At this point it would just be easier for city to admit they can’t find a solution that doesn’t involve getting absolutely embarrassed by thousands of reds filling their stadium.
Unbelievably disappointing that the FA Youth Cup final will now be played at the Joie Stadium (7k capacity) because City couldn’t agree a date to play it at the Etihad.
The obvious right thing to do is move it to Old Trafford which could see a crowd of over 65k attend.
Whoever kept farting in that away end too the right of the goal at the front, get your fucking bowels checked you horrible dirty bastard you smell like your dying #wafc
