@mattfle02898557@_AhmadHijazi@JohnWight1 The British went out of their way to hire "headhunters" and let decapitation and scalping become common practice, posing with heads, but sure "they were the ones stopping it."
@liuzhao_cn I saw that you have Harbin in your bio. I have not travelled in the Dongbei, but I have read a lot about industrial decline in the region, which used to be china's industrial center as well. A lot of people are getting left behind.
@liuzhao_cn Yes. The rural situation seems to be very difficult in some regions. Personally I've travelled a bit in rural Shanxi and Shaanxi and it seemed pretty bad, even near major tourist attractions, compared even to smaller cities.
@liuzhao_cn I've had the opportunity to speak with some Chinese students, and personally seen how late school ends in the evening.
It seems very stressful for most to be in school all day, then have homework on top of that, and have one test that determines everything. That's what I meant.
@liuzhao_cn It was hypothetical. But sure. I have the privilege of a pretty regular Danish middle class upbringing. That's a lot more privileged than much of the world.
I wouldn't highlight Danish elite education, when someone spoke generally on Danish education though.
@liuzhao_cn Maybe you are right. I don't know a lot about Chinese education. I'm seems like the hours, the workload and the tests are more stressful than any kid should live through.
It doesn't seem fair to highlight certain elite schools though. How many go to those?
@liuzhao_cn Imo China is amazing to visit, but I would not want to live there. Couldn't imagine putting my potential children through that school system.
@Nnefariousjack@syphistine@Y40IFRQTTING Frisians historically inhabited the North Sea coast from north of Amsterdam to central Jutland. North Frisia is concentrated around the Wassen Sea of Schleswig and Holstein
