@Society4Science September 6th will mark 500 days since the workers of @snmediaguild started negotiations with @society4science. We're aiming to have 500 signatures on our petition by that date. So far, 314 people have voiced their support. Help our cause by signing the petition below.
New year, new union. We are proud to announce the formation of the Chemical & Engineering News Guild. We represent staffers across the editorial and operations teams at C&EN @cenmag 1/6
In 2024, @society4science CEO @MayaAjmera received a $79,875 raise. The changes in our latest proposal mark a less than $40,000 increase in salary costs for the Society compared to their previous offer. That's for all 27 guild members over the full 3-year contract.
601 days of negotiating and we're getting nothing for Christmas from @Society4Science All we want is a contract to vote on. They cry poverty, yet always find the money to pay the CEO
It's been 572 days since we started bargaining with the @Society4Science. That's way too long to wait for the fair contract our workers deserve. Looking to help? Be sure to✍️our petition calling on CEO @MayaAjmera for a fair contract!

Last week, our members participated in a 24-hour #strike. The outpouring of support has been inspiring. Thank you to everyone who’s shown up and stood with us. After 567 days of negotiating with @Society4Science, we’re still fighting for the fair contract we deserve.
This isn’t where we want to be. We’d rather be doing our jobs. We love what we do and we’re good at it. But we need the support of our employer to keep delivering the award-winning reporting we’re known for.
12 hours until the workers of the Science News Media Guild will conduct a 24-hour #strike. This comes after our members voted to reject the @Society4Science's latest contract proposal. Rally with us for a fair contract on 11/5, from 8 AM to 8 PM at 1776 Massachusetts Ave, NW.
Workers of the Science News Media Guild will conduct a 24-hour #strike on Wednesday, 11/5. This comes after our members voted to reject the Society’s latest contract proposal. Our members previously voted by 92% to authorize a strike against the @Society4Science, if necessary.
In late August, our workers voted with 92% support to authorize a strike. Two months later, we're still negotiating with @Society4Science for a fair contract. We've been waiting 548 days for the fairness and respect our members deserve. We are prepared to walk out, if need be.
In 2022 and 2023, @Society4Science CEO @MayaAjmera’s raises totaled more than some employees' annual salaries. And yet, after 545 days, our workers are still waiting for a contract that ensures fair pay and cost-of-living adjustments.
The math isn’t mathing.
Yesterday marked 533 days since @snmediaguild began negotiating with @Society4Science. To make our voices heard, we held another practice picket during our lunch hour. D.C. commuters responded loud and clear. #faircontractnow
