Random thought: how would a poultry farmer know if the farm is actually doing well? 🐔📊

It’s not just about eggs sold. You’d need to track production, bad eggs, feed costs, sales, revenue and profit.

My analyst brain couldn’t leave this alone

Selling more products doesn’t automatically mean making more profit.

It got me thinking about the difference between sales, revenue and profit—and how important it is to look beyond just the number of products sold.

What data would a restaurant analyse before deciding to open another branch?

Sales? Customer locations? Foot traffic? Competition? Location accessibility?

I’m curious about how data actually influences a decision like this. 🤔📊

Random data question I thought about today:

If a museum has 100 visitors, and some came alone while others came in groups of 5, how should we measure attendance?

Do we count the groups or the individuals?

And what happens when someone visits more than once? 🤔📊

Random question I’ve been thinking about as I commute:

How do we accurately measure the number of vehicles that use a road daily?

If the same car passes twice, do we count it twice, or are we measuring unique vehicles?

How do we avoid counting the same car twice? 🤔📊

Data analysis can really make you question yourself. 😂

You clean the data, finish a chart and suddenly wonder, “Did I actually do this right?”

As my data mentor, @DabereNnamani says: “If you’re confused, you’re doing the right thing.”

So keep going. You’ll figure it out. 📊

One thing I’m learning:

Data visualization isn’t just about choosing the right charts.

If your data isn’t properly cleaned and analyzed, you could end up telling the wrong story.

Every chart is only as good as the data behind it. 📊

What’s the difference between a dashboard and a report page?

Should a dashboard be just one page, or can it have multiple pages?

I’d love to learn from those who’ve been in the field longer. 😊
