On this day in 1984, the Dead kicked off the East Coast leg of their Spring ‘84 tour in Virginia’s Hampton Coliseum. Dead Heads aboard the “mothership” would experience the first and only "Keep Your Day Job” opener in the band’s history. Set one was chock-full over covers including “Minglewood Blues,” “It’s All Over Now,” and “Beat It Down The Line.” The band’s originals made their way into set two with performances of “Truckin’,” “Scarlet Begonias,” and an encore of “U.S. Blues.”

We’re giving $10k to animal rescues this month, and YOU decide who gets it!
Where does the money come from?
Google made $225 billion last year. We wondered: what if there were a search engine that donated ad revenue to save dogs? So we built it - https://t.co/fEWKG7tIUs
How to vote:
❤️ Like
🔁 Retweet to spread the word
💬 Comment with the rescue or shelter’s name (tagging them is best)
Every unique comment = 1 vote for that rescue. The 10 rescues with the most comments get $1,000 each. No catch, no fine print.
(And try searching on DogDog just as you would on any search engine — every search helps raise money for shelters)
Voting ends 3/31. Full rules: https://t.co/TCmmDsuhDn

Today one of my breast cancer patients was placed under general anesthesia before I had seen her, marked her, or signed her chart.
That should never happen.
This is not the first time I have walked into a hospital and found that the rules were treated like suggestions. Surgery is not an assembly line. These are human beings. They deserve to be seen, evaluated, marked, and spoken to before anesthesia is administered.
When I asked for an explanation, I was met with defensiveness instead of accountability.
And here is the deeper issue. I am often told by insurance companies where I am allowed to operate. Even when I know that another facility is safer. Even when patterns like this have already occurred.
Physicians should be able to choose the safest environment for their patients. Insurance contracts should not override safety standards.
I am tired. But I am not going to be quiet.
We have to build a system where surgeons can vote with their feet and take patients where protocols are followed and safety comes first.
Our patients deserve better.

The UK confirmed its plan to end private messaging.
Ofcom is now being handed power to scan encrypted chats under the Online Safety Act. They’re calling it “client-side scanning.” What it means: every message on your phone gets checked before it’s encrypted.
This isn’t safety. It’s surveillance.
It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Bobby Weir. We send him off the way he sent so many of us on our way: with a farewell that isn’t an ending, but a blessing. A reward for a life worth livin'. https://t.co/2qdBbh80v1

Hey @verizon, @VerizonSupport, & @verizonfios What has happened to you? Why won't you honor commitments made to get my business? Why can't your team even call back? I have spent almost 8 hours with various support teams only to be told that you would not honor waiving (1 of 3)

@VerizonSupport I am already following you @VerizonSupport, have been for years. I will DM you the most recent ticketnumber for our research, but until we get to specifics, lets keep this customer service discussion visible, see how Verizon treats customers AFTER they make the sale.
@TMobileHelp@TMobileHelp may end up doing that. I will probably have to return the iPhone 17s and Android that Verizon provided ($23 per month, but a counteracting $23 credit, so).
Future bills? about $185! They are putting m through all this to save me $15 a month? OH! and the website says three lines of "Welcome Unlimited" are $33.33 per line per month; I am getting charged $50 (before ebilling discount). Can someone tell me why I left @TMobile ?
activation fees, it couldn't be done (they waived one, was supposed to be all of them). They told me the bill would go from $200 to about $140. My first bill was $134, OK. Turns out that was only one line! My REAL first bill is now $483?!? WHAT? and the expected (2 of 3)
