Road Traffic Notice N20: Ballyfookoon, Croom, Co Limerick

We refer to the major roadworks being undertaken by Limerick City and County Council on the N20 at Ballyfookoon, 5km north of Croom, to replace a structure under the N20.

The works require a weekend period of STOP/GO operation to facilitate the replacement of the structure under the middle of the N20 National Road. This STOP/GO operation will commence at 8pm on Friday 3rd July 2026 and continue over the weekend until Monday 6thJuly 2026. During this one-lane STOP/GO operation motorists are advised that delays are expected on the N20, and the public are advised to consider these delays when planning journeys over this weekend.

The trial will commence this Sunday, 5 July 2026 and continue each Sunday until Sunday, 30 August 2026, inclusive (9 Sundays).

he pilot trial will be carried out within the Georgian Area of Limerick City and will extend: From Cecil Street to Barrington Street (north-south); and From Pery Street, Davis Street and Baker Place to O’Connell Street (east-west).

✍ Survey: CCTV to Enforce the Waste Management and Litter Pollution Acts - Toppins Field

Limerick City and County Council (LCCC) intends to install CCTV for the sole purpose of preventing litter and illegal dumping and to enforcement the Litter Pollution Act, 1997 the Waste Management Act 1996.

This initiative will adhere to the Codes of Practice for the Operation of CCTV for the Purposes of Prevention, Detection and Prosecution of Litter and Waste Offences.

The action is being taken in line with Aim 3.2 of the LCCC Litter Management Plan 2023-2026.

The closing date for this survey is 11.59pm on Wednesday, 15th July 2026.
