not the first time @WKCRFM bachfest has guilted me into changing my strings. next thing you know i’ll be playing through all the sonatas and partitas...
A while ago, in a response to a tweet about my wife driving her warship, somebody made a comment about women drivers. This is my wife berthing her ship between a container ship and a destroyer. No tankers, no fuss, not easy (video speeded up for ease).
@BBBarch the lights atop your condo at 95th street and third avenue are extremely invasive and offensive to surrounding neighbors. this is a residential neighborhood, not a football field. kindly reconsider this lighting scheme.
@CentralParkNYC the Boathouse buses are some of the stinkiest vehicles in town. i cannot believe they pass emissions tests. as one of the bicycle commuters subjected to this nightly, and also on 5th ave, i'd ask you to please consider replacing them with less polluting vehicles.

In the past two years alone:
-WSJ cut its Greater New York section
-NYT downsized its metro desk
-Gothamist & DNA Info closed (and reopened, but with less staff)
-NYDN cut its newsroom in half
Hard not to be truly alarmed about the state of local reporting in NYC.
