I was born in Lebanon. I love Lebanon. And it is heartbreaking to watch this happen to my homeland again.
People are being killed. Children and medics among them. Entire villages in southern Lebanon are being demolished and reduced to rubble.
This is not normal. And the world cannot keep looking away.
How many times are we going to watch this happen to Lebanon and call for “restraint”?
Lebanese sovereignty matters. We need to hold Israel accountable. #lebanon #Canada

I am heartbroken to share this devastating follow-up.
Yesterday, I posted about a child who was killed in an Israeli strike on an apartment in al-Bureij Camp in central Gaza at 3:10 a.m.
I have since received his photo and learned his age.
Zaid Nofal was just one year and a half old.
The tragedy is even more devastating. Zaid was his parents’ only surviving child after Israel had already killed their three other children in an earlier strike.
I have just searched for information about his siblings and found that they were killed when their home in Jabalia Camp was struck on October 13, 2023. They were:
Ameen Nofal, 16 years old
Hamza Nofal, 11 years old
Ahmad Nofal, under one year old
103 million views on Instagram,
84 million here, 28.2 million on TikTok. Mamdani’s most popular video. Our political leaders simply do not understand how out of sync they are with the public on this issue, and how desperate people are for someone with a moral backbone.
@faisalkutty When the Egypt coach made the official 'X' signal to alert match officials to discriminatory behaviour, he was penalized with a yellow card instead of having his complaint addressed.
To the world today, Nelson Mandela is a hero exalted as a legend. But to the people of South Africa, he was Madiba, a leader who fought for justice even when the tides of the present were turned swiftly against it. To honor Madiba’s legacy is to fight injustice before history rewrites itself.
Incredibly brazen for the Prime Minister to boast about the “lasting benefits” of expanding fossil fuel production on a day like today.
Record-breaking heatwaves. Toxic smoke engulfing cities and towns. Out of control wildfires forcing entire communities to evacuate.
This government is spending billions of dollars in public money to expand the very industry that’s causing climate breakdown — at a moment when renewables are cheaper and more available than ever before.
No more climate-wrecking corporate welfare. We need a government that protects the people and places we love.
#Israel must immediately release Palestinian Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya and all the health & care workers arbitrarily detained: UN experts. The practice of medicine is not a crime.

People are upset about the World Cup because instead of bringing the world together it’s another reminder of how unjust the world is.
It’s not a conspiracy. A Somali referee was denied entry to the U.S., that’s a fact. The U.S. tried to swap Iran for Italy, and then mistreated the team, that’s a fact. The U.S. president made a call to reverse a red card for an American player, that’s a fact…
From discrimination and over-priced tickets, to commercial breaks and VAR issues, many people who have watched and enjoyed the World Cup since childhood are more than disappointed. The whole tournament was tainted from the beginning, starting with a fake peace prize to gratify the host country.
