Alex Corretja: “And Cobolli? What do you tell me about Cobolli? Besides being more handsome than those statues they have in Rome?” @alexcorretja74 😂😍👏🏼
At 19 years old Mirra Andreeva is a major champion and it’s all thanks to Mirra. Mirra who put in the work, Mirra who battled for every point, Mirra who believed in Mirra.
Many thanks, Mirra.
Mirra Andreeva at the press conference after her loss: “I think the way I approach matches has changed a lot, because even when I was playing against Sabalenka in my first tournament here in Madrid, I was just trying to enjoy the atmosphere and wasn’t expecting anything from myself. So I was just playing like every match was my last.
So I was just trying to give it all and I knew I couldn’t tell myself anything bad if I would loose because no one expected me to win so many matches that year. But now, of course, I know how well I can play, and everyone else knows it too.
So now it’s a matter of how to keep that level every time I play and finding consistency as well.”
Mirra Andreeva at the press conference after her loss: “Everytime I loose it’s like the end of the world for me. Sometimes I see other players smile right after the defeat. So, to me, I don't understand how people do it. I wish I could do it, but every match that I lose is obviously very disappointing and very painful to me. So, I hope that maybe in the future this can improve and maybe after the match that I lose, I can talk about it right away and not take some time before starting to talk about it.”
😮💨 Alexander Blockx on his match against Alexander Zverev in the semifinals of Madrid:
“I felt like I was playing against myself who was couple versions stronger than me”
What a tournament for Alex 👏
