Software engineer who used to perform in musical theatre. Sadly forgetful about twittering. Views, vague as they are, are my own. he/him π³οΈβπ
@peps133 That's a shock. Your inspiring strength & positivity can make me lose sight of what a challenging journey you're on. Stay strong and remember how amazing chemotherapy is; and whenever you want to vent your frustration please do. All of us care deeply and are rooting for you.
How international the topics are is really important too, going beyond UK & US and having correspondents from the countries involved. What other forum does that? πΊπ€
On #BBCDateline, @BBCShaunLey reminds us it ends soon. What a loss - intelligent discussion from across the political spectrum. I donβt agree with all guests but in my years watching only a handful seemed to not be there in good faith. We need more of this calibre of discussion!
This is incredible to see and read about! After my stroke I needed months of physio & OT, & I'm still regaining function 2 yrs later. It's awesome that this treatment could avoid most of the damage some strokes cause. πππ
Patient had a #stroke at 12 noon, playing with his grandchildren, dense right sided weakness. Successful mechanical thrombectomy and clot out within 3 hours. Patient reunited with grandchildren, completely normal, by evening. Feel very blessedπ #NHS#doctor#neurorad#MedTwitter
@lbkjj Thank you John, I appreciate that π
I remember meeting you on the ships all those years ago. I have really happy memories of my Seabourn time, might have to get the old band back together!
I hope you're both doing marvellously.
Thrombectomy saves brains and changes lives. But most people who need this treatment donβt get it - it's subject to availability. We want thrombectomy to be available to everyone who needs it, when they need it. Sign our open letter: https://t.co/gww7jUJGPq #SavingBrains
@LarissaHunter Oh my word Larissa, I've just had a look at your profile and got an inkling of what you're fighting! I didn't realise π³
Your unstoppable energy is an inspiration, and it helps that you're sharing what you're experiencing β¨οΈ
@CIWarren Hi Christine, you're so right about the effect of strokes on family. Because mine happened in lockdown, my family in π¦πΊ couldn't be here. I've only recently got to visit so we could all work through it.
@LarissaHunter Thanks Larissa, I'm doing pretty well now π I didn't intentionally keep the stroke a secret π but it happened during lockdown when everyone had lots challenges and it was difficult to connect. So glad life's not like that now!
@chrikes That's lovely to hear, thank you. It was a great show and cast to be part of, and wonderful to have so much support from those of you that came often! π
@chrikes Thank you Cathy π€ It was a shock and I've had to take time to relearn things, but I'm fortunate how much has come back π It's lucky I hung up my dancing shoes years ago though! π
@CazB82 This is a great milestone! I hope the flight went well and you're feeling proud of your achievement. Coincidentally, this week was my first flight since my stroke in Apr '20. I'm pleased I did so much (over)thinking to prepare; way more confidence now!
Just watched & adored @ticktickboom. It's a love letter to musical theatre and its sacrifices. It's more powerful because of Larson's life and using his own writing. Great casting; Andrew Garfield's performance was esp uplifting & moving. If you haven't seen it, you should!
Powerful words from the wonderful David Tennant on why he's supporting our campaign to renationalise the NHS!!
