When you get up in the morning, don’t start your day with social media. Don’t start your day with checking your emails or texts or the news—especially these days.
Instead, start your day with the Word of God and with prayer. That will equip you to deal with what is ahead.
“Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion.”
Not “found.” Not “happened on.” Chosen.
You will never drift into devotion. Mute the noise, drop the to-do list, and prize the King who loves you.
I still love church. The communion of saints. Still love to hear the Scriptures preached. The subtle sounds of Bibles opening & pages turning & believe they’re thunderously heard in heaven. I love choruses of young & old in worship & whispers of saints praying together at altars.
