If a Buddha like Amida said you should say His Name, have faith in Him and wish to be born in His Pure Land, then you just do this exclusively. Why? Because He did NOT mention anything else as a karmic condition for birth in His Pure Land. If He considered that you should do anything else than the above three, then He would have mentioned that, but He didn't. So, don't play smart and do exactly what he asked you to do - exclusively: say His Name in faith and wish to be born in His Pure Land.

Of course, there are other Buddhist methods that are very good and effective in various ways, other Names of the Buddhas that can be recited, various mantras, etc, so do them, recite them if you want, but if you wish to be in harmony with the words of Amida in His Primal Vow (18th Vow) you must do exactly and exclusively what He asked you to do there. Nothing more, nothing less, because Amida is smarter than you and is the owner/creator of His Pure Land. He wants you to be focused on Him exclusively, not out of jealousy or because the Names of other Buddhas or various mantras are not good and effective, but because in this way you can enter into karmic connection with Him for birth in His Pure Land and in your case, as an ordinary person, you need FOCUS.
Don't do extra things just because you think so, as I repeat, you are NOT smarter than a Buddha.
