@alexisohanian Statically your previous 5.1 and current 5.3 are essentially equivalent results! I would be more interested in statistically different changes over multiple serial measurements over time. You can likely find the instrument and actual error for your testing location.
@alexisohanian Don't forget error bars and ref. interval def! E.g., (https://t.co/P9OVP3IzdQ) the precision STDEV for one manuf. A1c measurement is ~ +/- 0.148%; a result 5.3% means the true value is likely between 5.15 - 5.45%. Ref. intervals vary by lab and instrument.
@moseskagan@DIVIDIND Another way to protect not yet fully vaccinated infants and immunocompromised people, is to make sure the people around them ARE current on vaccinations too! Follow the AAP vaccine schedule https://t.co/1D1KzwKh0y
@moseskagan One of my kids asked "what is the worst disease?" during a recent well visit... and I was thinking Ebola, HIV, etc., but I said "the worst ones to get are vaccine preventable ones that were nearly eliminated, like polio" - why you are getting the TDAP and IPV boosters today!
@moseskagan This is also a thing in Korea too! They actually have special hotel like places to sequester mom and baby and be taken care of. This seems magical and WHY DON'T WE DO THIS IN THE US???? https://t.co/hnkXgi0dsB
We’ll never forget the lives we lost on September 11, 2001. Let’s continue to honor their memories, and the courage of our first responders who put themselves in harm’s way.
@bethanyjbabcock@Michael_Cohen__ I’ve also heard of group plans from religious groups or churches, but I don’t know much about them or how to find them. Coverage is variable, for example I head of one patient on one of these plans who didn’t have coverage for dialysis.
An example of the amazing translational science happening in the U.S. between academia and industry that saves babies lives!!

@moseskagan@CohenSite In Pasadena (not DTLA) penalties are on the books for damaging trees https://t.co/TJhdN0jsWU And I seem to remember signs on the trees on Green Street back in the aughts, when I lived there, that damaging the Green Street trees was a $100k fine …but could be misremembering
