We made it! First day of metrological Spring on #LindowCommon, #Wilmslow. A frosty start, but lots of sunshine.☀️

New growth is starting to emerge slowly around the Common, but give it another month and the place will start to look a lot greener...

Sorry for the poor quality but unexpected visitors to Black Lake this morning (6.10am. A male and female Shoveler (only got male) Very skittish and left after a few minutes

An uncommon visitor to Lindow Common. A Common Gull Larus canus. First time I've seen one here. ID by a local bird watcher, I'm useless at Gull ID in their first and second winter plummage

Bollin Valley Partnership Rangers and volunteers and staff from the @MerseyRivers were working at Lindow Common SSSI, in Wilmslow, recently. As part of the ongoing heathland restoration and management they were removing the birch and willow seedlings from the heathland.

@CECRangers have already begun the autumn tidy up on #LindowCommon #Wilmslow by cutting back some of the vegetation on the banks of the Black Lake.
