1/ 🔴 Bezisterim in Long COVID: a new approach to fatigue, brain fog and PEM

A new Phase 2 trial has reported an interesting signal in some of the most disabling symptoms of Long COVID.

The drug is bezisterim (NE3107), and what makes it especially interesting is not only that some patients improved, but how it may be doing it.

Bezisterim is an oral molecule that crosses the blood-brain barrier and is designed to modulate inflammatory signalling involving ERK, NF-κB and downstream mediators such as TNF-α.

And this connects directly with something I’ve discussed in previous threads on LDN, metformin and post-infectious disease: perhaps part of treatment will involve finding ways to reduce an excessively amplified inflammatory response without broadly suppressing the immune system. 🧵

The idea that it should be avoided came from writers who were trying to align the language with Latin, but there is no reason to suggest ending a sentence with a preposition is wrong.
