salty tears
stain my cheeks
as my soul splinters
broken fragments
litter your path
visible
yet invisible
as you plunder
the wreckage
and I exhale
alone
Should have.. Would have.. Could have..
are only echoes from the past.
Be still. Let it pass.
All that truly matters
is what you do NOW.
Besides...
Doing what you "should"
will make you average.
Doing what you love,
no matter what,
makes you outstanding.

I held the spark
I kissed the flame
I met the devil
I know his name
His light is hellfire
His love insane
He lit the storm
I danced in the rain

We flow like threads
and cagey silhouettes
we're slipping.. off the shadowed seams of clouds.
We use our words..
to till our fantasies
our spirits,
sealed for hours in the ground
People like you
turn pain into beauty
I admire you, brother, sister,
I try to write, but these afflictions
are too much at times,
hell bores into my bones
the past is hungry
but the future demands me
& winter is too long
I miss the light & butterflies
wake me when summer comes.
She seeks sanctuary
in the only place they can't invade.
A holy space,
it never comes up empty.
She'll be kept
& in that keeping, weep.
As tides within she rivers deep
an echo of past love.
So she sleeps safe n dark, albeit close to dying,
nearer to her dreams.

Her words
found their way
under his skin
awakening
the poet
buried
deep within
His first attempts
awash with angst
his soul screamed
out with each page
he writes
Floor littered
with feeble
romantic prose
Distant strangers
kindness opened
his mind to the light
And so he writes...
They braid:
Nerves—
Bundle upon bundle
the nexuses twist
Tightly, and loosely
wound
Neurotransmission;
I feel, you feel
We mesh well
in our coexistence
Writing on impulse
But the morning mist has a sound, almost like a muted wailing; its resonance deadened somehow. An auditory illusion I wonder. My mind wraps around the thought of whose voice is muffled in the hands of sky and water.
THOUGH
Her heart
a RECYCLED
Wonder
With
The first
BREATH
Of winter
She could
HOLD
Them back
No more
Her PAIN
Falling like
Crystal RAIN
And years
Of FROZEN
Tears
Now
Lie SHATTERED
And scattered
ON
The FLOOR
