34 years ago today ‘The Real World’ first aired on MTV.

The success of the show shifted MTV’s programming away from music videos and towards reality TV.

The show went on to have 33 seasons, ending in 2019.

Over the years the show addressed important issues like racism, homophobia, transphobia, abortion, substance use, mental health struggles, death and more.

Big Brother 20 is imo still the best modern era season… it had a split house, multiple house fights, several close votes, and many iconic moments like Kaitlyn’s puzzle crashout and “ON MY DAUGHTERS BIRTHDAY”. I love this season downnn
