It's nearly impossible to raise standards, expectations, or achievement w/o first raising morale. Morale has to be the priority. It drives success by increasing productivity, engagement, attention to detail, commitment and it helps reduce disengagement and turnover.
Took some time out from curriculum to be thankful this afternoon! Kiddos rocked it and I found 22 reasons to be thankful. Time for reflection is important. They humbled and centered me❤️. What a re-energizing feeling to listen and learn from them and for me to reflect.
Leaders, if you want what is best for your students, do what is best for your teachers/ staff. Value, appreciate, and suport them. Help them develop their strengths, treat them well and watch them give their best to the students.
Do you have a favourite teacher?
Tag the teacher who made the most difference in your life and let’s make sure they know how much they matter. From the bottom of this mama’s heart, to sweet teachers everywhere: I see you, I appreciate you, and I am so grateful for you!

When I find myself in tough conversations,
when I am being held accountable,
when I am called to unlearn, relearn, or just learn —
This is my mantra.
It’s been a game-changer.
Less armor. More learning.
Teachers never gave up on their students this spring. But they have given up on politicians treating them respectful & paying them like professionals. 25+ yrs in education, I’ve worked with some of the most amazing, caring, dedicated professionals who NEVER have or will give up!
#ThoughtForTheDay As schools begin to lay out plans for the fall be mindful of where & w/whom you share your frustrations. Kids don’t need to hear adults complaining about the decisions being made & when kids complain let’s model what it means 2 be the voice of reason. #Culturize
Teachers, please don’t think working 12 hr days, spending your own money on supplies/ resources, or working every weekend, is all part of your calling. Being your best self for your students may be your calling but the rest is just causing you to burnout & not give your best.
Teachers don’t need canned curriculum, new programs, or initiatives to be more effective. They need to feel respected, valued, supported & appreciated. They also need to feel like their talents/strengths are being utilized. This is when morale increases & job satisfaction soars!
*SOMETIMES, TEST SCORES LIE*
Some of school's biggest successes are those students who score below grade level.Sometimes, the greatest story is that student who grew 2,3,or 4 years, but still scored in the "yellow". Don't judge your success based on the # of "green" kids! #edchat
Friends! I don't know who needs to hear this, but this is just a friendly reminder that continuous learning DOES NOT mean that we are creating fully loaded baked potatoes for every student! We are in a crisis...the goal is mashed potato leftovers!

Elementary kids shouldn’t have more than an hour or two of work per day. That’s it. That’s all they need. Many miss teachers. Some are scared & anxious. & they just want their parents to be parents right & not feel like they have to be the education warden. Focus on play & family
