We’ve got to turn our biggest challenges into our greatest and brightest of hope.
To those who think our politics are too broken for Bright Hope, I have four words for you: Madame President Kamala Harris.
Let’s GO! #DNC2024
Thank you to @RepJamesClyburn@RepMikeCarey@LisaBRochester & @SenatorTimScott for introducing bipartisan legislation to reauthorize the African American Civil Rights Network. Preserving the places & stories of the Civil Rights Movement helps future generations learn from our shared history. https://t.co/lBghBHufg9
While Donald Trump is busy with everything from foreign wars to UFC fights on the White House lawn, Americans are struggling to afford basics like health care and groceries.
After congressional Republicans let expanded subsidies for Affordable Care Act plans expire at the end of last year, some families have decided the price is too great of a financial burden and canceled their coverage. https://t.co/a23TWTttoS
BREAKING: Inflation has surged since the start of the Iran war, and Americans have come to expect that prices will only continue to rise over the next year. https://t.co/O1ZFIfdgM4
Grateful to my friend and fellow Senate freshman @LisaBRochester for the invitation to speak at her 2nd annual Bright Hope Brunch, in Delaware.
Lisa named this event after the church where her grandmother worshiped for decades. That kind of grounding — in family, in community, and in positivity — helps make Lisa the type of public servant I love serving with. And meeting her entire family, from her mom to her granddaughter, was an added bonus.
We talked about what Democrats have to do to deliver real change, and how critical it is to listen to people who feel left behind. But as is always the case when I’m with Lisa, we talked about the importance of hope and vision in what can feel like dark times for our country — which one of the many reasons I so appreciate serving with her in the Senate.
Housing costs are crushing working families. We need to build more housing and bring costs down, so our teachers, nurses, and service workers can afford to live in the communities they serve.
Since the start of Trump's war in Iran, gas prices have soared by over 50% in Delaware. That's money out of the pockets of working families who are already getting squeezed by inflation. Trump and MAGA Republicans don't care about making life better for Americans.
Prices for groceries are skyrocketing when working families are already stretched thin. This is Donald Trump's economy: where people have to choose between paying rent, filling prescriptions, or putting food on the table.
Congress has let drug companies rip off Americans for decades.
Lobbyists, campaign cash, and a system that protects industry profits.
But it doesn’t have to be this way.
RFK Jr. has wreaked havoc on our nation’s public health. Because of his mismanagement, we now have measles outbreaks affecting children across the country.
Skyrocketing gas prices are suffocating working families, along with the cost of groceries, rent, and energy. No relief in sight. This is Donald Trump's economy.
It doesn’t matter whether we have to stand on the Senate floor at midnight, at 3 in the morning or at 4 in the morning. We are going to stand up to Donald Trump all day, everyday. We are in this together because in this country we have #NoKings.
Republicans are in charge and what have they delivered? Higher prices at the gas pump and at the grocery store, and more foreign wars. Democrats will continue to fight for working families.
Donald Trump's war in Iran is hurting Americans at home, making everyday necessities like gas and groceries even more expensive. He couldn't care less about working families.
“Behind the recent jump are primarily the weak labor market numbers, but almost all the economic data have turned soft since the end of last year,” wrote Moody's Mark Zandi. https://t.co/J3l36zBNyn
I sat down with my friend @LisaBRochester and she reminded me why she's one of the most important voices in the Senate right now. She's not just making history, she is making an impact. Watch the full conversation here: https://t.co/BXkGfyzwZ1
Last night, Trump tried to paint a rosy picture of America. But the reality is soaring costs, attacks on freedoms, and growing instability tell the story of a country on the wrong path.
Donald Trump will stand in front of the country tomorrow and act like everything is great, but the reality is the American people are hurting and can barely afford to get by. https://t.co/fefausERUT
The Supreme Court struck down Trump's tariffs, and now he's looking for more “alternatives” to hurt the American people. He can call it whatever he wants, working families will be stuck paying the price at the checkout line.
