Great to see @ABCthedrum cover the #CRISP program this evening. A heartwarming story about this innovative approach - a win for #refugees and the Australian communities who welcome them.
TONIGHT: Anthony Albanese is in India seeking to boost trade and investment, and the renewed calls to make childcare access easier and get women back into the workforce.
PLUS: The new refugee resettlement program making the adjustment to life in Australia smoother. #TheDrum
Thanks for the opportunity @SabraLane and @abcnews - The Bright Side is a great podcast series and I was honoured to be able to share our story of how everyday Australians can make a direct and meaningful difference in the lives of refugees.
If you're in need of some positive news, take a listen to this. @LisaButton2067 spoke with @SabraLane
on the @abcnews AM podcast about the practical and profound ways everyday Aussies are welcoming refugees into their community via the CRISP. Tune in here: https://t.co/kXaUhUjQJi
One of the most common experiences we hear from group members is how the program brings out the best in their community. We see local businesses, schools giving their time, resources and expertise to help the group in their support of a refugee household. https://t.co/OSVS1qFQLp

Ever asked yourself ‘But what can I do to make a difference?’. So did this support group member. When coming across the CRISP, they knew this was a real way they could have a personal impact, responding to the global refugee crisis through meaningful, local action.

Great to be representing @OzRefugeeCounc at inaugural @CRSA_Aus Re:Settlement conference, bringing together the incredible diverse groups growing community sponsorship in Australia.
Lucky enough to see a pre-screening of the powerful film One Life, about Nicholas Winton who saved over 600 children from the Nazis prior to WW2, it was achieved by British families coming forward to sponsor the children, a lesson for today @amnestyOz
Just in from the #2023GRF: the AU gov has pledged to grow community sponsorship & complementary pathways to 10,000 places pa, in addition to a larger core humanitarian intake. We stand ready with our community partners and supporters to help realise this commitment.
70+ organisations have pledged their support for welcoming more refugees to Australia via community sponsorship. They do so ahead of the 2023 Global Refugee Forum, held in Geneva from 13-15 December. You can sign on behalf of your organisation here - https://t.co/cnSaKL8Mw0
#LisaMillar invited David, Ana, and Monica on @ABCNews Breakfast to talk about their involvement in the Community Refugee Integration & Settlement Pilot (CRISP). More everyday Aussies are welcoming refugees through community sponsorship. And you can too - https://t.co/7n1044IiFh
As we gear up for the 2023 #GlobalRefugeeForum, we've launched the GRF 2023 Australian Community Sponsorship Pledge: https://t.co/nCN86D6sDr

It was great to hear @andrewjgiles confirm the government's ambition of 10,000 additional community sponsorship and complementary places for refugees.
We're keen to work with the government and community stakeholders to make it happen!

Great to be at #RegionsRising Summit and hearing from Minister @CatherineKingMP. Regional Australia has a huge role to play in refugee resettlement. Community Sponsorship provides a great model for local communities to ‘opt in’ to refugee settlement & plug infrastructure gaps.
