🚨 CRUELTY ALERT: Dog Thrown in Dumpster 🚨

This is an egregious act of neglect and the Nebraska Humane Society is actively investigating and asking for your help.

On Tuesday, May 13, around 2:50 PM, a heartbreaking call came in: a dog had been thrown into a commercial dumpster near 31st & Mason St.—inside a filthy wire crate.

Animal Control arrived to find the dog covered in urine and feces, barely clinging to life. Despite emergency care at the Nebraska Humane Society, the dog was unresponsive and had to be humanely euthanized. 💔

On April 25th, a black Shih Tzu was found in a commercial dumpster near the Continental House Apartments (4310 S. 25th St., Omaha). The dog was barely moving, severely matted, and covered in open sores—possibly from chemical or thermal exposure.

Thanks to emergency treatment at the Nebraska Humane Society, this pup survived, but faces a long, painful road to recovery. 💔

This is an active investigation, and we’re asking the public for help. Someone knows who did this.
