I’m not a fan per se, of Taylor Swift. I’m a classic rock kinda gal. But I recognize and acknowledge the impact she has, and has had on her fans. For over a decade, Swift has walked the walk in her advocacy. Let’s take a look, shall we?

2011 - Donates $70,000 in books to her hometown library

2012 - Swift donated the proceeds from her single ‘Ronan,’ named after a child with cancer of the same name, to cancer charities in his honor.

2015 - Helped a fan with their student loan payments, and donated $50K to NYC schools.

2016 - Swift gave $250K to Kesha, to help her out, in solidarity for a fellow SA victim.

2016 - Donated to the doctors who saved the life of a 4 month old who needed heart surgery, and $1M to victims impacted by the Louisiana flood.

2017 - Donated to the Joyful Heart Foundation for survivors of sexual, assault, and gave to food banks in Houston, TX helping those impacted by Hurricane Harvey

2018 - Donated to RAINN during Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and tickets to her concert in Foxborough PD after one of their own was killed. Swift also donated $10K for the procurement of a service dog of an 8 autistic boy, and invited Jacob and his family to her concert in 2020

2019 - Swift gave $10K to help a fan battling cancer, with medical bills

2020 - Swift donated $1M to help those affected by a tornado in Nashville, that killed 24 people, $30K to an aspiring math student, money to a foundation in MN to give skincare and hair care products to women of color, stimulus checks to families affected by the CV-19 pandemic, and $13K to help two mothers behind on rent

2021 - Gave $50K to a mother of 5 whose husband died of Covid

2023 - Gave $100K bonuses to her ERAS Tour truck drivers, to the tune of about $5M.

🚨🚨🚨MAINE SHOOTING UPDATE: A video still of the shooters gun in the Maine shooting appears to be an AR-15-style rifle.

The SAME gun more than 30 law enforcement officers were AFRAID to confront in Uvalde that left 19 children dead.

The SAME gun that’s been
the weapon of choice in many of the most horrific mass shootings in recent memory, including the Covenant school shooting in Nashville just two weeks ago.

The SAME gun brandished by Republican radicals like Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert.

The SAME gun worn as a pin on the lapels of disgusting GOP lawmakers.

This is what we need to scream everywhere:

If 30 armed officers wearing full tactical gear with ballistic shields are too afraid to confront a single gunman with an AR-15, they SHOULD NOT be in the hands of civilians.

We have the answer. It’s the guns.

You can’t attend a concert, go to a dance class or go to see your doctor. You can’t ring a doorbell, use a leaf blower, hop in a car, pull down a driveway, bounce a ball, or ask the neighbor to keep it down.
You can’t check out a farmer’s market or pick up a package at the post office or go to a Fourth of July parade, and you certainly can’t send your kids to school without worrying that someone will get shot.

Or that YOU will get shot.
This is where we are now.
This is not normal.
This upside down reality is being imposed upon us by those who equate firearms with freedom.

Congrats to Simone Biles. She just won her 8th national all-around title.

She is the first American gymnast EVER to do this.

The 26-year-old Biles could have quit years ago after the trauma she suffered by being sexually abused by doctor Larry Nassar.

Instead the 4’8” woman fought through the pain, agony and emotional terror to do something no American gymnast has ever done before.

Congrats to Simone Biles!
