25 years as a HCA and I’m now at a crossroads!! I always wanted to continue my journey in nursing but obstacles keep being put in our way as HCAs not to mention pay isn’t right for what we actually do!! So the question now is do I continue or not?
@DannGoodingRN Wtaf? what the hell are they on about ‘due to increased duties last year’? What do they think nurses have been doing for the last 3 years then? And still for an absolute pittance!! They should be on national minimum wage in my opinion and no more!!
@SaltySappers@Proud_Sappers @Barrattplc @ACampaigns@KingspanIns_UK@MKCTraining Brilliant effort guys, now it’s the last few miles, keep going strong, your loved ones will be waiting for you when you reach land. Huge congratulations to you all on such an accomplishment, go Sappers!! 💪🏻
#OUResults passed my module today after a very hard year shielding, home schooling 3 kids, husband being made redundant, going back to work in a busy A&E department, and then unfortunately losing my dad. It’s fair to say it’s been a struggle but I’ve done it!!!
The old debate has reared its ugly head again today and I was directly involved in it unfortunately! Why oh why do people still think it’s ok to tell us HCAs we are unqualified? Excuse me but we qualified!! We are just unregistered!!
@TheGiantLady I totally agree with you. Patients should not be made to get up and washed at that time of day unless there is a need to do so! How would you feel if you were made to get up and washed at 4,5 or 6 o’clock if you didn’t have to?
So I got my end of module exam results today and I’ve passed my second year!!! I’m about to start my third year and am now officially half way through my degree in health and social care with the Open University!!
