I don't recommend speedwork for 1st-time marathoners. But after finishing, think of cutting (way) back on total miles, which will allow you to run some of those miles at a faster pace. Interval training is the most effective form of speedwork.

Boston Marathon checked off the list!! Love my Arianna Grande sign!! It sure did teach me pain, endurance and pace and was one of the most amazing marathons I’ve run!!

My first Boston Marathon today! Probably could not have asked for better weather! What an incredible experience! My favorite spectator made this adorable “Arianna Grande” sign for me also!! ❤️this!!

@higdonmarathon So true ! In the midst of this right now... weeks away from Boston and was just diagnosed with some tibial tendinitis!! Staying calm and rowing and biking as much as my glutes can take as well as all the other safe non weight baring things I already do at my cross fit gym! 🤞🏻💪🏻
