Today is #SevereMEDay. ME is short for myalgic encephalomyelitis, an unrelentingly brutal illness. Those with severe ME spend all day, every day in bed in a dark, silent room.
Light and noise are torture, so typically no TV, no music, no conversations. Brain fog makes reading impossible. The very severe need to be tube fed because every muscle and fiber in the body is so weak that they can't chew, swallow, or digest food.
ME is poorly understood and little studied because the funding for research has been abysmal for decades. Those who suffer from ME are left to rot by the medical establishment.
I was severe for a few years but, mercifully, I have recently improved to moderate thanks to an elaborate cocktail of prescription meds and supplements my doctor has me on. My greatest fear in life is that I will regress back to severe. It is a living hell.
I'm grateful for organizations that fight for funding and raise awareness of this awful disease, and I mourn for and with those that suffer from it.
I'm an editorial assistant and baby agent who is delighted to say I now have not one but TWO clients (co-agented with my wonderful mentor Stacey Kondla). Dream come true! I've been trying to break into publishing for... I can't even count the years on my two hands. 🤩

I asked my buddy Jeremy, “Hey
