@coachmwillis86@Cochise68420@Thechat101 Yup that’s why I said Bron’s game is about mismatch hunting.
I agree with you but another component to why 2013 was so deadly is because Bron reduced his ball dominant ways & Spoletrsa had Bron in more Off ball actions so his teammates could be more of a threat on OFF.
@coachmwillis86@Cochise68420@Thechat101 Agreed not knocking how Bron’s score. I was just against how you were debating about 16 wins and 1v1 argument without factoring when Bron won most of the time he had greater teams than Kobe and Bron uses his teammates to score.
Especially in his heliocentric - space out system.
@coachmwillis86@Cochise68420@Thechat101 Ok thank you for admitting that Bron’s scoring is based on mismatches & team setups.
So this 1v1 conversation is over. And this 16 game win conversation is over.
Take care Coach.
@coachmwillis86@Cochise68420@Thechat101 Bron didn’t guard Kobe the entire game either…..
One of the reasons why Kobe couldn’t stay on Bron is because Bron tend to use screens and hunt for mismatches Coach.
In a 1v1 setting, Bron will not have help from his teammates to take Kobe off him.
Again let’s be real.
@IrisOfTheEagle@Artdemon323@LogicDefense You’re right about TD’s & Russell’s scoring but both guys had the ability to impact games outside of scoring & they maximized their teams to win. TD had to do it in the crazy West & that is too hard for me to ignore.
For Russell, it is unfair to penalize his era imo.
@coachmwillis86@Cochise68420@Thechat101 Based what I could remember before Bron went to MIA.
Bron rarely scored on Kobe in true isolation. Again because Bron’s game is built around mismatches. He actively reduced possessions against Kobe on purpose.
There’s also films of Kobe stopping Bron as well. Let’s be real.
@coachmwillis86@Cochise68420@Thechat101 Since the 16 win point was explained were most of them came when LA was not competitive.
In regard to 1v1. There are many films on Kobe taking Bron in iso, with no team set up. So it is a waste of time to even entertain this. Bron also ducked a 1v1 hypothetical because he knows.
@IrisOfTheEagle@Artdemon323@LogicDefense Oh ok.
I have Duncan solely because no matter what role Duncan played, he found ways to win in a ridiculous competitive time of the Western Conference.
Russell because the C’s before him wasn’t all that & after him collapsed until Hando took over the next year.
@Artdemon323@IrisOfTheEagle@LogicDefense 7/
That’s not emotion.
Bron is one of my favourite players but I am not going to over rate him due to my criteria.
We all have different criteria’s. But as a person that watch sports for competition, this is one of my reasons why it is hard for me to rank Bron over some ppl.
@Artdemon323@IrisOfTheEagle@LogicDefense 6/
Based on talent & roster, it is no secret that Bron has been on talented teams from 2011 to now (excluding 2019) in comparison to the rest of the league.
Even with all those advantages, Bron didn’t experience or overcome comp with the level of others before him often.
@Artdemon323@IrisOfTheEagle@LogicDefense In a 5 games series, old 34 or 35 Mutombo was dealing with a Prime Shaq.
How come Shaq couldn’t go off against Big men around his level or age consistently? Here’s a hint: because he couldn’t to win games.
Shaq played worse against players that had less DPOYs or none.
@coachmwillis86@Cochise68420@Thechat101 I guess Bron’s AS mate, Gooden, a prior all DEF player & 3pt record holder (tied with Kobe) was trash huh?
Wow.. I guess Bron can win all by himself, even though the Cavs were known for TEAM DEF.
Btw Bron normally ducks 1v1 with Kobe. Bron’s game was about mismatch hunting.
