LPA calls for theatre industry tax relief: A Theatre Tax Relief initiative similar to that in the UK would bring more performances to Australian stages and boost employment opportunities on stage and off, says @LivePerfAust.

Honored to perform at Now & Forever.
Shouts to the artists that all donated their time to make this happen and to Live Nation Australia, Frontier Touring, Mushroom Group, TEG Dainty & Live Performance Australia for taking care of the infrastructure.

If the ABC is genuinely interested in engaging and growing its audience, it would be investing more in its reporting and coverage of the performing arts as opposed to further scaling back its coverage as has been the trend over recent years.

We welcome today’s passage of legislation establishing Creative Australia and putting in place measures to deliver the Albanese Government’s National Cultural Policy Revive. https://t.co/p1HSjy58YW
It promises to be a synthsational start to Friday when Perth's very own @Voyagerau take to the stage in Liverpool representing Australia in the Eurovision 2023 semi-finals. Best of luck to the band! Watch it live from 5am AEST on @SBS

The Budget reaffirms the Albanese Government’s long-term vision for Australian arts, entertainment and creativity but still underplays the critical role of industry-led initiatives in rebuilding a workforce severely impacted by the pandemic. #Budget2023

As soon as I saw this, I knew it was ridiculous.
So we're making it right - bringing the world's best artists back to the world's best city.
Working to lift the concert cap on Allianz Stadium that has stopped these artists from performing.
Who isn't crazy in love with that!

Accepting on his behalf, Dame Edna Everage said: 'I have more hideous statuettes in my spare room than the Queen has polyester headscarves, but this one I will treasure certainly for the next few days and then I might lend it to Barry to adorn his naked mantelpiece.'
Vale Barry Humphries AO CBE.
A comedic and creative giant and great supporter of our performing arts.
LPA recognised his outstanding achievement in Australia’s live entertainment and performing arts industry by presenting the J C Williamson award in 2008.
For 89 years, Barry Humphries entertained us through a galaxy of personas, from Dame Edna to Sandy Stone.
But the brightest star in that galaxy was always Barry.
A great wit, satirist, writer and an absolute one-of-kind, he was both gifted and a gift.
May he rest in peace.
Happy birthday, QPAC! 🥳 On 20 April 1985, the Queensland Performing Arts Centre was officially opened by His Royal Highness the Duke of Kent.
