As a woman who loves video games, I hate the shift to appeal to women who play mobile games. It's all sjw narratives and ungodly amounts of micro transactions from the big studios now
No, 50% of gamers are not women.
This claim originated from an ESA global survey that doesn't even account for things like hours played. Meaning: someone who's played a cell phone game for 1 hour would be counted as "a gamer."
Anyone with even a basic grasp of fandoms and hobbies understands that's not how this works. If you read three pages of a comic book once, then put it down and never do it again, you're not a comic book fan. Stating otherwise would just be lying/posing.
When studies and surveys look at who actually calls themselves "gamers," men overwhelmingly outnumber women in the hobby. When studies and surveys look at those who game 10+ hours per week on average, men outnumber women in the hobby. When studies and surveys look at who games on console and PC, men overwhelmingly outnumber women in the hobby.
If you hear these statistics and feel personally attacked by them, it just means you're more interested in pushing a narrative than the truth.
That truth being: gaming is a male hobby... and while women are more than welcomed into it... trying to change it in order to make it into something that it's not because you find it "problematic" just exposes yourself as an outsider, and a tourist.
Schools typically teach that the New Deal saved America. They don't teach that it extended the Great Depression by several years and that even FDR's own Treasury Secretary admitted it had failed.
(The omission is not accidental…)
@ElGranCheerio They do. Loads of good, legal immigrants and natural born citizens refer to themselves by the ethnic group they're from because American is a nationality but not a ethnicity.
@AbotGrenfield Marlene's philosophy is inspired. It was recommended on a lds homeschool group and I swear I had never felt the spirit as strong as I did watching her weh intro video outside the temple. God wanted me to know it was the right choice.
I love the WEH approach to learning. It's similar to Charlotte Mason's and Maria Montessori's philosophies. All are based on the teachings of Henrich Pestalozzi. The creator of WEH, Marlene Peterson, had chatgpt put together this image to show how it compares to government school
@ElGranCheerio The pink one isn't too bad spice wise. It's one of the milder ones, but I don't care for its flavor profile. We get the original and add stir fry vegetables to it. It's good, but the basic shin ramen is my favorite. It's closer to the pink spice wise but better flavor imo
@Beach_BlueOcean Yeah it sounds like a terrible idea. I'm generally pro Isreal. They have a right to exist and defend themselves, but they do not have a right to our weapons, tax money, intel, and everything this says they'd have complete access to.
@FaithLikeAbish2 Shows like this are past our why we only allow shows from before 2005ish in our house and even then it's shows we've personally watched and know the content of
@defense_of_fam I did the initial blood test with my kids, but only so I could prepare. I wouldn't have gone through with amnio because of the risks to the baby
