Actor Kim Seonho said this while thinking of Ilgan Sports, which is celebrating its 57th anniversary. In a recent interview with Ilgan Sports for its anniversary, Kim Seonho said, “As a reader, it’s an honor to be able to celebrate the 57th anniversary together,” and added, “I sincerely congratulate Ilgan Sports on its 57th anniversary.”

Kim Seonho has met Ilgan Sports readers through various projects throughout the year. Starting with the Netflix series Can This Love Be Translated? (hereafter CTLBT) in January, followed by the play Secret Passage and Coupang Play’s variety show Bonjour Bakery, he has shown a wide range of activities across different fields.

“It doesn’t feel like it was that long ago that I started the year with CTLBT, but time really flies. I wanted to greet everyone through various sides of myself through good projects, and the first half of this year was even more meaningful because I was able to actually show that. Since I had to show different sides of myself through a series, a play, and a variety show, I was worried too, but it actually became a time when I could learn many new things.”

With CTLBT, Kim Seonho once again proved his strength as a romance actor. The series ranked No. 1 globally in its second week after release and entered the Top 10 in 60 countries, receiving a lot of love not only in Korea but overseas as well. Kim Seon-ho said, “Whenever I still hear people calling me Joo Hojin (Kim Seonho), I really feel how much love the series received.”

“When I first read the script, and even while filming, I thought it was a really charming project. I think it was able to receive so much love because the charm and message I felt through the project were conveyed well to the viewers. It was a project I prepared for really diligently, so I hoped many people would love it, but I’m grateful that you gave it even more love than I expected.”

The play Secret Passage, which sold out all seats as soon as tickets opened, was a time for Kim Seon-ho to look back on his beginnings as an actor. Returning to the stage after three years, he reflected on how he felt when he first started acting and once again thought about what the stage means to him.

“For me, the stage is always a place that gives me a new kind of nervous excitement. During the preparation period, I wonder, ‘How will you see it?’ and after coming offstage, I wonder, ‘How did you see it?’ It’s also special because I can see the audience’s reactions in real time. I think I want to keep standing on stage because I can gain new energy and build experience as an actor through the stage.”
