Wonderful to see David Warmback, 🇬🇧Hon Consul in Durban, at Buckingham Palace yesterday to be made an MBE by HRH The Princess Royal “for services to British Nationals in South Africa”. Many congratulations David! Lovely to see our former colleague Lizzy Walker there too!

Finally, the place where my ❤️ lives. Sandriff, Cederberg. Hike, swim in rivers, taste ‘wines with altitude’. Scenes to remind you of the glory of this magical 🌍. Sun, space & stars. Don’t forget to check travel advice from my friends

Thank you 🇿🇦❤️❤️ (11/11)
@SANParksKNP Wild camping, Namaqua National Park, coastal section - simply THE BEST KEPT SECRET in 🇿🇦. We had this whole beach to ourselves, stars, dolphins & seals for days. Words can’t do it justice. Definitely worth the effort of @jb_reid letting the tyres down. 4x4 essential. (10/11)
I completed my Robben Island swim yesterday. 3 hours, 16 degrees, 7.6km, a little chop, one crazy current and the mother of all mountains watching over me. Think I’ve finally completed Cape Town. 🇿🇦🇬🇧 🏅 #swimming
So delighted to see an amazing volunteer, UK’s Honorary Consul in Durban, @DavidjustinW recognised this year, for work supporting 🇬🇧 nationals in 🇿🇦@ukinsouthafrica
All these trips were planned through word of mouth - guidebooks don’t work well here. Thanks to colleagues & friends for their recommendations & above all to chief travel companion @jb_reid. Wishing @cribbands_CPFC many happy travels as he takes up the role! 7/7
Wrapping up 5 years supporting 🇬🇧 nationals in Southern Africa. This region stole my ❤️& I’ll forever be telling anyone who will listen to visit here. Sharing five personal highlights from a vastly underrated part of the 🌎 (🇿🇦 specific thread to follow) 1/7
Finally, 🇧🇼 is so special it needs 2nd mention. Paddling in the Okavango Delta may be the purest immersion in nature possible on this 🌍. Rainfall travels though Angola & Namibia to get here - nature knows no borders. I hope we can protect this place 6/7
