Last week the Supreme Court released a decision in Connelly vs. United States. In short, the IRS won a battle that related to a 'wait and see' buy sell arrangement, and the taxation of life insurance proceeds paid to the corporation.

While the decision is adverse to the taxpayer, the ruling suggests that every business buy & sell agreement should be revisited to assure the most favorable way to buy any deceased shareholders interests.
