There were Russian people in an out of Rusdian Federation that were against the whole time. Especially those who got bombed by their "aasvabaditeli".
Know personally ppl in Moscow who were against from day 1 and said so.
To claim that it's the majority is wishful thinking

Many Russians - even those in exile, who cried that their relatives support the war - are now like, NOOO, nobody wanted any imperialist war for foreign territories.
Russians were fond of asking "where were you the last 8 years". Now one can ask - where were you the last 8 months
