Joe Brady had never called a play when he was hired to bring the spread offense to LSU.
Why him?
Ed Orgeron: "Freaking Ray Charles could have seen how good this young man is ..."
Orgeron and others helped me chronicle the debut of the Bills' new coach:

@Bubbleboi69420 I’m not a fan. I’m a reporter. Choked away the division during the final month of the season. Yeah, let’s reward that. Muse was even more deserving this season.
The Lightning underachieved this season. A coach shouldn’t win based on career accomplishments (Cooper is excellent) or reputation.
The broadcasters dropped the ball on this one. Should have been Ruff or Muse.
Jon Cooper is the Jack Adams winner for the 2025-2026 NHL season! 🏆
Cooper takes home the first Jack Adams award of his career after the Tampa Bay Lightning finished the season with a 50-26-6 record for 106 points.
@Lightn1ngStr1k3 Get out of your bubble and look at the hand the other coaches were dealt. Arguably the best goalie in the world with still a bunch of talent.
Nate Peterman is working to become a player agent.
I covered Peterman when he played at Pitt in 2016. He was dynamite in a win at Clemson that season. Figured something was up when I saw him at the combine in February.

As a young coach, John Fox never understood why some of his mentors walked away from retirement to return to the grind of the NFL.
"Then, I lived it."
Why the longtime head coach relocated to Orchard Park to help Joe Brady and the Bills:

I sat down with longtime NFL head coach John Fox to learn about his role with the Bills and why he paused his retirement again to come to Buffalo.
“I’ve been to three Super Bowls and I haven’t won one. … I know that’s the goal here.”

The full story from @TBNSports as #Sabres captain Rasmus Dahlin finishes third in the Norris Trophy voting. That's tied for best in franchise history (Jim Schoenfeld 1980). https://t.co/PMnGQB72vo
@Timbo7290 The responses to this link (and most other Bills tweets nowadays) remind me of covering the Sabres during the drought. It’s really something.
Travis Clayton is making a position switch for the Bills, moving from offensive tackle to defensive line. Here he is today going through individual drills with his new group.

Pete Carmichael's takeaway from watching the Bills' wide receivers during OTA practices:
"They are fast. They are playing hard. I'm excited about the way that group is practicing right now."
Bills offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael on working with Josh Allen:
"He's got a great personality. He likes to keep it light, but when it's time to get serious, he does. .. And, obviously, his ability."

@Lord_of_Jord They’d get half that if he tears an Achilles. It’s all about the risk. Cleveland wasn’t winning anything with him. Chose the young player (Verse) over an extra first. That’s the part we should debate. Should they have gone after two firsts instead of a first and Verse.
A rare win for the Browns. They weren’t going to amount to anything this season with Garrett.
Acquire as many assets as possible while you can. I really like Verse. Gotta pay him after this season, but he’s really good and younger.
Now agreed to and official: The #Browns are trading Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett to the #Rams for star edge Jared Verse, a 2027 1st-round, a 2028 2nd round, and a 2029 3rd, per me, @AdamSchefter and @TomPelissero.
The offseason's biggest trade is final and real.
