#WorldChildrensDay#NationalChildDay#EveryRightForEveryChild
Today is @UNICEFCanada#NationalChildDay. We’re always listening to children & youth about what matters to them.
#EveryRightForEveryChild includes the right to be protected from harm, online & offline. Youth have been calling on us—we must get the Online Harms Act to committee.
Today on National Child Day, I’m reminded of the importance of youth advocacy. Yesterday, I met with @unicefcanada’s group focused on Racism and Discrimination—so inspired by their passion and insights!
#NationalChildDay
Today is National Child Day in Canada and World Children’s Day globally, serving as a reminder of our collective responsibility to protect and promote the rights of children, including their right to education, safety, health, and opportunities to reach their full potential.
Extremely grateful and honoured to open up @UNICEFCanada’s national advocacy summit for a fifth year in a row.
We are a part of a generation that is willing to create change and that is evident with every summit I have attended and every change maker I am blessed to meet!
Mayor Kirk Cameron and the City of Whitehorse are joining @UNICEFCanada and young people across the country in championing the rights of children and youth as we celebrate National Child Day 2024.
This year is the 35th Anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
World Children's Day takes place each year on 20 November. The day marks the United Nations General Assembly's adoption of the Declaration of the Rights of the Child in 1959 as well as the Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) in 1989. Thanks to @UNICEFCanada for inviting me to attend your Youth Advocacy Summit with @JennaSudds@GordJohns and @BobRae48 ! It was fun to hear from youth across the country and you can read their report here
