A poll conducted by the Surrey Fire Fighters Association has indicated that the solid majority of the residents in Surrey support the need to increase firefighters in proportion to the population growth.
For 31 years, the Surrey Fire Fighters Charitable Society has stood alongside Muscular Dystrophy Canada, helping to bring hope, support, and opportunity to Canadians living with neuromuscular disorders. In 2026, they continued that incredible legacy with a generous donation of $16,000, bringing their lifetime fundraising total to an inspiring $282,600.
Behind every dollar raised is a community that cares, volunteers who give their time, and Fire Fighters who are committed to making a difference. Their unwavering support has helped break down barriers, fund vital programs and services, and ensure that individuals and families affected by neuromuscular disorders know they are not alone.
To the Surrey Fire Fighters Charitable Society and the community members who support their efforts year after year, thank you. Your compassion, generosity, and dedication have made a lasting impact over the past three decades, and we are deeply grateful for all that you do.

Met with Surrey Fire Fighters’ Association @Local1271 today to discuss key priorities: protecting firefighters & communities from lithium-ion battery fires, strengthening airport firefighting regulations, and indexing the Memorial Grant Program for fallen firefighter families.🚒
Our firefighters are on the front lines every day, protecting our communities. With my Lower Mainland colleagues, I sat down to hear directly from Surrey firefighters at @Local1271 about the challenges they’re facing.
Our friends at @SFFCharitable & @Local1271 always come up BIG! And the 2026 CAN Adapted Hockey Tournament was no exception.

Today we assisted with a multi agency rescue of two Bald Eagles who got into a fight and landed on a power line. Thanks to @Local1271 and @bchydro for ensuring our volunteers were safe when getting these eagles apart.
Luckily, they flew off immediately.
