At the retirement party of President Carmen Charles of Local 420 of @DC37nyc. She served the local for 25 years at the same time served DC 37 as Vice President. Her remarkable dedication in labor movement will always be remembered. We wish her a success retirement! @ASAAL08
People across the world kicked off May Day with large marches and protests as many workers grapple with rising energy costs and shrinking purchasing power tied to the Iran war.
Also known as International Workers’ Day or Labor Day, the holiday highlights the struggles and achievements of workers worldwide. Thousands are taking to the streets from Asia to Europe and beyond calling for stronger labor protections, higher wages and greater equality while drawing attention to stagnant incomes and the rising cost of living.
Proud to be part of “No Kings” rally in Manhattan. America has always rejected kings hood since 1776, now it is our time to STOP it, and we all will. Let’s work hard and take over the House and Senate in this midterm.@ASAAL08@DC37nyc@CentralLaborNYC@NYSAFLCIO@AFSCME@AFLCIO

The fight for civil rights and workers’ rights are deeply connected. That’s why our labor movement is organizing every day in the courts, the streets and the halls of power for dignity, respect and justice for working people. #BlackHistoryMonth
Our 26th Black History Celebration was a great success. We had great speakers, best drums, superb dancers, and testy soul food. Everyone have had a good time!
We were pleased to join on Jan. 15-18 in Baltimore, MD, for the 2026 AFL-CIO @AFLCIO Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Civil and Human Rights Conference. It was a great event including presentation by our friend Professor Maya D. Wiley, a prominent civil rights activist.
