Eddy Enuru: Authorities in Soroti are divided over the construction site of the district headquarters. The leaders say they are not in a hurry to relocate to a new site and are still comfortable operating with the city leadership.

On Monday 12th July 2021, the District Political Leadership Head, the LC-5 Chairperson Simon Peter Edoru Ekuu handed over the annexed Administrative Units to Soroti City. The former Soroti Sub County and Arapai Town Council have been annexed to the City.
