This is true. It’s not the ref’s job to know how much time is left. That’s what the timekeeper is for. The ref’s primary concern is safety of the boxers.

If fans don’t like the rule, totally understandable. But under the unified rules, the fighter has not beat the count unless he both is up before 10 AND able to continue regardless of what round it is and how much time is left. Taylor applied the rule correctly. Whether or not the punch landed before the bell is a different story.
