I have an idea, whatever requirements are included in the SAVE act to vote, be the same requirements people need to purchase and possess a firearm. Both are “fundamental rights”
Dear MAGA,
You can be publicly executed by the government if you legally possess a gun in the presence of a federal law enforcement officer. Congratulations.
They will look you dead in the face and say J6 rioters with guns, poles, bats, etc were patriots, but an ER Nurse with a camera and a registered firearm was a domestic terrorist.
So let me get this straight:
Storm the Capitol. Beat cops. Chant “Hang Mike Pence.”
That’s a “peaceful protest.”
Film ICE/CBP with a cell phone?
That’s a “riot” and you get a bullet?
If this was the Biden administration and Alex Pretti had voted for Trump, every Republican in Congress would be shouting facism and calling for justice. Instead, they want to blame the victim for standing up for freedom and respect. Just like our founding fathers did.
There is a popular argument for the second amendment: the Holocaust wouldn’t have happened if its population was armed.
The argument is that we need to be armed to protect ourselves from a government oppression.
Alex Pretti was killed by the government “for being armed”
They want to blame his death on the fact that he had a weapon, but there is nothing to suggest he used it aggressively. If we have a right to bare arms to protect ourselves, why was he executed in broad daylight for exercising his constitutional rights?
@SpencerJCox care to comment? Our President does not share your commitment to “disagree better.” Please, speak out against his hatred. It is tearing our country apart and all people need to stand united in speaking out against this type of vile rhetoric.
The irony here is that Republicans in the Legislature had every chance to draw fair, legal maps. They refused. They used partisan data, violated the standards Utahns voted for, and ignored the court’s orders. When politicians ignore the law to insulate themselves from accountability, the courts step in. That’s how our system works.
That’s not “one Utahn.” That’s checks and balances protecting the will of the majority. And frankly, it’s refreshing to see at least one branch of government willing to uphold its constitutional duty.
Judge Gibson picked a gerrymandered map, she did not comply with prop 4 or follow the Constitution which clearly states the Legislature is in charge of redistricting.
Is Judge Gibson’s ruling an impeachable offense?
Trump claims the Canadian ad will influence an upcoming Supreme Court decision.
If the top court in our nation can be influenced by a television ad, then that court has lost all credibility.
(Also, Trump is full of shit and is throwing a tantrum that will hurt Americans)
