I encourage you to read the entire context what Paul was saying to Thessalonians 2000 years ago. If you do you will find it has nothing to do with men inventing things entire new afterlifes like Purgatory or brand new practices like praying to humans. This verse doesn't support either practice. Again if this were a "tradition" it would have been practiced in the Bible previously and not made up by men hundreds of years after Christ. It doesn't need to for my point to be valid. My point is it ISNT BIBLICAL. In the thousands of years of documented Biblical history not one person in the old or new testament communicated with other humans who lived before them besides Saul who was reprimanded for it. This means it is a Catholic man's invention. That is my sole point. Imagine if Lutherans started sacrificing rams every Sunday. We could say its unorthodox but we couldn't say it's a Lutheran invention as there are TONS of Biblical examples of this practice. Purgatory, The Rosary, Praying to Saints, Holy Water etc all started hundreds of years after Christ and all were invented by men not God.
